The Appraisal Process: Understanding Its Importance

The appraisal is a critical step in your home purchase journey. This independent evaluation determines if the property is worth what you've agreed to pay.

For you, the appraisal serves two purposes:

  1. Valuation: Ensures the home is worth at least the purchase price
  1. Condition assessment: Verifies the property meets FHA's minimum property standards for safety and habitability

The appraisal contingency date is 6/12/2026. If the property appraises below the purchase price, you have options to negotiate, cover the difference, or potentially exit the contract. FHA appraisal contingency goes through the contract closing date.*

This will be an upfront out of pocket expense that will be due upon order. You will be sent a payment link by Meshia. The cost ranges between $650-$800+
